7 Benefits of Life Coaching

☽ SELF-DISCOVERY & AWARENESS

Coaching helps to facilitate self-discovery by bringing awareness to the stories, patterns, thoughts and beliefs that run our lives. We so often come to accept a certain way of being, never challenging ourselves to think in a new way or break an unhelpful pattern. Sometimes we get so consumed by life, by work, by our partners and kids and daily stresses that we lose sight of who we are. Coaching can be magical way of helping you bring it back to basics, assessing what is or isn’t working in your life and connecting back with yourself and what is most important to you.

☽ CLARITY

Sometimes we feel unhappy or dissatisfied but we don’t know how to improve the situation. This is one of the biggest barriers that people create for themselves. This limbo, this place of indecision, this place of becoming content with our discontent. What we really want and what makes us really happy is often super simple, but we lose sight of it. Coaching can help to bring back awareness and clarity to what you want to change and the direction you want to go in.

☽ GOALS & DIRECTION

Coaching is about taking stock of your life and current situation. Whilst we will look a little to the past, it’s really all about the future and what steps to take to achieve and create that new reality. The coaching process has a highly pro-active element that involves creating a physical plan of action with goals and tasks to help you step-by-step in getting to where you want to go.

☽ MINDSET

Do you ever think about how amazing we would be if we spent as much time focussing on our positive thoughts as we do on the negative? So often our negative thoughts become so pervasive and crippling. A lot of coaching is talking about our thoughts and beliefs, unpacking them, questioning them (Hey self-doubt! What’s your deal?) and finding alternative, more useful ways of thinking.

☽ MOTIVATION

Do you get hit with waves of motivation that quickly dissipate? Do you start a new, exciting project only to abandon it a few weeks later. The ol’ start-stop syndrome is a THING. The role of a coach is in fact, part cheerleader, which means that I will be there to motivate you, give you tips of how to keep yourself motivated, to keep you on track and to follow through on whatever it is you are looking to achieve.

☽ ACCOUNTABILITY

Booking in that first coaching session is the first step in taking responsibility for your life. Most coaching requires creating a plan with specific goals and tasks to get you to where you want to go. This means that accountability is built into a lot of the work we will do together. As your coach I want you to succeed but ultimately it’s all down to you to deliver on goals and to take responsibility for your actions.

☽ SUPPORT

Life can be a little overwhelming and sometimes we put on this big brave face, feeling like we have to do it all ourselves. But that’s not true, support is all around us in more ways than one. Whilst I will be there on the sidelines, coaching can also be handy in bringing awareness to the supports already available in our lives and how to better connect with them.
