REIKI FAQ

What is REIKI?

Reiki is an ancient form of healing that works on the body, mind and spirit by stimulating a person’s own natural healing abilities. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese words, (Rei) meaning “Universal” and (Ki) which means “Life Energy”.

How does REIKI work?

During Reiki training, practitioners are attuned to Reiki or Universal Life Energy. Through this attunement, practitioners are then able to act as channels for this life force energy.

Reiki is channelled through the hands. During a Reiki session, practitioners connect with universal life force energy, placing their hands lightly on or above the client, allowing this energy to flow to where it needs to go, and stimulating a person’s own natural healing abilities.

The wisdom of Reiki then goes to work to bring about healing, balance and whatever is needed on a holistic level.

What happens during a REIKI session?

  • Ahead of your Reiki session, we will discuss your intentions, your energy, and any areas of concern

  • You can select between either a light hands-on or hands-off approach

  • During the session, you will lie fully clothed on a massage table

  • Pillow and blankets will be provided to ensure you are warm and comfortable

  • Meditative music will be played in the background

  • Ahead of the session I will cleanse your aura and set up a safe space for the healing process

  • During the session, my hands will be laid either above or lightly on your body in non-intrusive areas

  • During the session I will work through different areas of your body, gently placing my hands upon your head, eyes, and ears, underneath your head, throat, shoulders, heart, stomach, hips, knees and feet

  • During a Reiki session, I act as an energetic facilitator, letting universal energy flow to where it needs to go. I try to incorporate intuition into every session - talking to your body to unlock any messages, thoughts and memories.

  • After the session, you can enjoy either a cup of herbal tea or water and we will discuss what you experienced during the session including, what sensations you felt, what thoughts or memories arose and any emotional responses or releases you felt

  • I will also discuss what I observed during the session, offering intuitive insights and guidance

  • Life Coaching also plays a part in my sessions

    • Together we will explore where your energy is going, where it is lacking and devise practical ways to bring clarity to your mind, fill up your heart space and allow you to feel more grounded.
